Last night's Rufus Wainwright concert was one of the best nights of my life, hands down. That man is a genius. I will update this with a very intense post about every reason it was excellent sometime today, I'm sure (one word: lederhosen) & many comments on this latest album which is quickly becoming my favorite. But yes, look out for that.

In the meantime, I'm still in the incoherent happiness-coma that is a great concert by an amazingly talented performer.

Day of Silence

Please understand my reasons for not speaking today. I am participating in the Day of Silence, a national youth movement protesting the silence faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and their allies. My deliberate silence echoes that silence, which is caused by harassment, prejudice, and discrimination. I believe that ending the silence is the first step toward fighting these injustices. Think about the voices you are not hearing today.

So all 5000 or so songs I once had on my computer? All gone. I'm willing to bet only about... 1000 of those can actually be recovered from CDs, and maybe if I beg iTunes they'll replenish another 300 or so. So now I'm begging my friends list: SEND ME MUSIC. Anything you've got, really. You all have excellent taste, so I trust you'll send some quality music.

Support World AIDS Day

Please look into this cause as its something I think we can all agree is extremely important. Denying the AIDS epidemic in other countries (and here, really) will not make it go away. People are necessary for change. Spread awareness, raise money, whatever you are willing to do and can do will help. Just don't pretend that this isn't happening. Five people die of AIDS every minute. Nearly 3.1 million people will die of AIDS in 2005 alone. 4.9 million new people will be infected with HIV.

The theme this year is: Stop AIDS. Keep the Promise. Are you doing your part?
